Speed up parking to improve the well-being and quality of life of citizens
The Castellón local government wanted to implement sustainability and quality of life measures in the city for its citizens. The idea was to improve parking management to reduce the volume of vehicles on the road looking for somewhere to park and therefore reduce traffic, pollution generated and improve the quality of life of citizens.
The aim of the project implemented for Castellón was to speed up the search for parking.
The project consists of the strategic placement of 10 guidance panels to inform drivers of the availability of spaces for parking in the area.
Thanks to the information communicated on the panels, the vehicles are guided according to the actual availability of parking spaces, therefore reducing unnecessary traffic flow caused by looking for somewhere to park by up to 30%.
603 parking sensors
The project involves the deployment of 603 U-Spot sensors in parking spaces. The data which is captured in real time is transformed into useful information which guides customers directly to free spaces by means of the 10 information panels.
Citizen satisfaction with improvements introduced
Guides vehicles in the car park, improving and speeding up the traffic flow and parking. Reduces vehicle congestion and pollution levels generated by up to 30%. Citizens are satisfied by the improvements introduced in their city. They no longer waste time looking for parking, suffer less stress and have an improved quality of life.
In the smart city project developed in Castellón, we based our proposal on solutions that meet both the needs of administrations and citizens.
