It detects instantly any vehicle passing through the entrances and exits of parking areas due to its immediate reaction with accuracy equal to or greater than 98%. It provides a reliability of 95% in parking occupancy information. Via web, mobile or automatically it can be made the update of the vehicle counting to ensure the quality in the system performance.

The sensor is installed in 10 minutes without wires and with minimal civil work. The system needs a minimal maintenance task in comparison with the technologies available for counting vehicles.

We offer an end-to-end solution from sensoring system to the display of free parking availability information on informative and digital panels. In addition, the manager can establish different rules to configure the information to be displayed on the panels according to the real parking occupancy.
Features / Functions
The sensor uses the technology of measuring the Earth’s magnetic field to detect a vehicle passing through the entrance and exit of a parking area. This technology has been proved robust under adverse meteorological conditions.
The measuring rate is immediate, every time a sensor detects a vehicle it sends the information to the cloud.
The detection accuracy of the sensor is equal to or greater than 98% along its lifetime and it provides a reliability of 95% in parking occupancy information.
The sensor transmits its information through the communication network using the U-Sense proprietary protocol at sub-GHz ISM bands. The communication network channels the sensor’s information to the cloud utilizing the standard communication protocol IEEE 802.15.4 at 2.4 GHz.
The maximum distance between sensor and communication network is up 20 meters (for the advanced version of the sensor).
The sensor is suitable for any outdoor parking area, either at public roads or out of them, and for any kind of vehicle (light and heavy).
Its operating temperature ranges between -33°C and 65°C and it has an IP67 waterproof and IK10 mechanical resistance protections. These features provide it immunity and robustness under meteorological events (rain, win, snow or fog).
The total height is 7cm with a base diameter of 10,25cm y of 10,6cm at the top. It weights around 430 grams.
How our parking sensor works
The sensor measures the Earth’s magnetic field variations when a vehicle passes through an entrance/exit of a parking area. The information is sent to the cloud using the Urbiotica’s communication network.
The cloud process the magnetic field value sent by the sensor to determine in real time how many vehicles are getting in and out of the parking area.
In addition, this data is transformed in real time into useful information about parking inbound and outbound flows and taking into account the maximum parking capacity, it can also be generated the amount of free parking spots.
The information stored in U-Admin is distributed to user’s applications:
- To guide citizens from the outside to the inside of parking zones through the informative and digital panels.
- For the manager to improve the parking planning using the statistics about real use of several parking zones.
What’s more, through standard protocol integration services, the information can be integrated with any platform, mobile application and existing management system.
