Urbiotica’s parking sensor system, leader in Germany and Austria

The latest project completed by MSR-Traffic in the city of Albstadt, Germany, is the sixth deployment of Urbiotica technology in that country.  MSR-Traffic and Urbiotica also have 3,800 monitored spaces in Austria making a total of 9,300 spaces between both countries. This has positioned the brand and its partner as benchmarks in parking space sensing systems in the region.

The parking sensors installed on public and private parking spaces communicate in real-time the availability of spaces through signage panels and applications for citizens. The system therefore guides users to free spaces, reducing vehicle congestion by up to 30% and the hassle of having to look for a free space.

Urbiotica will accompany MSR-Traffic at the next Parken event being held from 23 to 25 September in Berlin. Visit the MSR-Traffic ECCH-B10 stand and discover the competitive advantages that make us benchmarks in guided parking in Germany and Austria.

Smart parking transforming teeming tourist cities into efficient and enjoyable places to live or visit

Some cities experience massive overcrowding during peak periods as a result of their attractiveness to tourists or for being a haven for holidaymakers.

The access to beaches, shopping and leisure areas gets blocked by cars trying to reach their destination or motorists driving around looking for a free parking spot. It creates stress and unease amongst the residents and tourists who therefore spend too much time getting around the city. The local trade notice their sales and foot traffic decreaseCO2 emissions and noise contamination caused by vehicle traffic harms residents’ health. It’s really irritating and annoying for residents and shop-owners and creates a bad image for visitors.

One of the biggest challenges of today’s Public Administration and Urban Service Management is to reduce the congestion caused by looking for parking on public roads improving the traffic flow in the city and, therefore, the environmental quality and well-being of residents. Ibiza and l’Escala are two good examples of places which were facing massive seasonal overcrowding and decided to take control of the situation by implementing smart parking solutions to become more efficient and livable places.

Ibiza: Over 2 Million tourists during summer months

L’Escala multiplies population in summer season

Urbiotica’s urban guidance solution

The company’s urban parking guidance solution tackles the problems faced by Public Administrations and Urban Service Management of trying to find a parking space on public roads. It helps them reduce traffic congestion, guiding users based on real-time information about the availability of parking spaces on public roads.

Urbiotica deploys its smart parking solution in 600 spaces in Castellón, Spain

JUJOSA, the manager of the regulated parking service in Castellón, and the local government have chosen Urbiotica’s smart parking solution to optimize the management of its regulated areas and help improve the quality of life of its citizens. Six hundred spaces will be monitored by wireless sensors which will enable the real-time communication of the availability of spaces through 10 signaling panels and the Castellón mobility application. The solution will also be integrated in the Smart City Castellón platform, allowing a more efficient management of its regulated parking areas.

The deployment of the project, which will be completed in the summer, aims to guide vehicles based on the real time availability  information of parking spaces in the city centre and therefore reduce the volume of vehicles on the road looking for parking and the pollution generated in consequence, benefiting local citizens.
