Urbiotica receives an award for its initiative in the Smart Cities field
On Tuesday 17 May, the Catalan Federation of Telecommunications Installation Companies (FECEMINTE) held the 48th World Telecommunications Day -in the emblematic MUHBA (Barcelona History Museum) in the Plaza del Rey- at which Antoni Brey, CEO of Urbiotica, received the “Award for an initiative or technological development in the Internet of Things or Smart Cities field”.
Urbiotica received the award at the CONEXIÓ awards ceremony which Feceminte holds each year, with this being its 17th edition. The President of Feceminte Román Lantarón Cuesta said, “It is an honour for me for Urbiotica to receive this award, which undoubtedly demonstrates its track record in the telecommunications sector”.
Homage in the field of telecommunications
The CONNEXIÓ awards, symbolised by an original design of the Collserola Tower, are given to companies, organisations and individuals that have stood out either individually or collectively in innovation, research, quality of service or for making a singular contribution in any area of the profession.
The Feceminte CONENEXIÓ awards were held for the first time on 26 May 2000 at the closing ceremony of the “BCN Meeting Connection” European Congress and the commemoration of World Telecommunications Day. Feceminte celebrates this day each year and brings together the whole telecommunications sector of Catalonia: government representatives, the most important organisations and telecommunications installation companies, as hosts.
